  • Dates: June 3rd & 4th, 2024
  • Location: SMC campus center, University of Maryland Baltimore, 621 W Lombard St, Baltimore, MD 21201
  • Registration: This event has concluded, registration is closed.
  • Hello SCORCH consortium members,

We are excited to have you join us for the June SCORCH meeting! Below is some important information about registering and talk/poster sign-ups.

Summary of important links & details (more details below):

    Event time and schedule:

The meeting will take place over two days, starting at 9 A.M. Eastern each day (tentative schedule). In addition to in-person attendance, we will also have remote attendance options (use the same registration form, just answer remote for your attendance type). Our meeting format is a mix of panel discussions, a poster session, and lightning talks. Tentative panel discussions include: Cross consortium data integration & analysis, Clinical phenotype considerations during analysis, and Validation of findings in model systems & spatial approaches.

    Poster session and lightning talks:

Instead of groups giving short update talks, we are asking each funded project to prepare an update poster summarizing the status of their project. We also encourage individuals within labs to sign up for their own posters or lighting talks (format 8 mins + 2 mins for questions). For links to signup pages, see previous emails or contact jreceveur@som.umaryland.edu, deadline May 7th).

We have a limited number of talk and poster slots so please sign-up early! Preference will be given to graduate student and early career researchers. For both lightning talks and individual posters, we will have an opt-in competition with unique SCORCH-specific prizes for the winners of each category (also a great item for early career CVs).

    Location:

The June meeting will be held at the SMC campus center on the campus of the University of Maryland, Baltimore. For individuals flying for the meeting, the closest airport is BWI. From the airport, it is around a 20 minute drive/Uber (or 40 min ride on the light rail) from the airport to Baltimore. UMB’s campus is within walking distance to the Baltimore Inner Harbor and there are several public transportation options nearby/on campus (MTA). For individuals driving, you can find information about parking here.
